How can a 20 year old, woman with a high school education care for this child for 10 years without incident, yet, a medical staff nearly kills him in less than a week?

Oh my God. Did someone at the school do this to him? Please be very, very careful of these residential placements. Even the supposedly "good ones" are filled with very poorly trained and poorly supervised "therapists." (and I use that word lightly!!)
The restraint procdures they use are typically illegal and many times very dangerous.
Right. I hear what you are saying. Poor treatment can happen at any residential facility. Unfortunately, they are necessary and we have to put our faith in them and hope they don't treat the vulnerable masses poorly.
The wrapping on his arm is not due to a physical injury, it is to keep an IV in tact.
Miguel was not physically abused, per se, nor was he restrained.
It was a negligent medical issue.
